In Look Back and Laugh, John Schmidtke laughs about the crazy things that happened in his family. The wonderful thing is that the longer ago it was and the worse it got, the funnier it gets. Is your life like that?
We’re talking about the silly stuff that usually ruins your day. The mistakes, misstatements, accidents, misfortunes, problems. Don’t let them ruin your life!
If bad things happened, it isn’t because you’re unlucky. It’s because you’re normal!
Your past, the downs as well as the ups, can be a real blessing. It all depends on how you look at them. Laughter is the key. Whatever happened (ridiculous, riotous or ruinous) happened. If you can laugh at it, you can live with it.
There is humor in everything. All you have to do is find it. Laughter is good medicine too. When you think back on even a bad event with laughter, it will bring a smile instead of tears or anger. It’ll help you—and everyone around you—because happiness is catchy.
Go ahead, friend. Buy this read! Find out why John says, “If life is taking you to the Funny Farm, you might as well laugh along the way!”

Look Back and Laugh eBook John Schmidtke Reviews
I thoroughly enjoyed John Schmidtke's book Look Back and Laugh. Reading about his family's escapades brought a smile to my face and a chuckle to my heart. As I read, I reconnected with many experiences with my own family, and remembered them quite fondly. However, as they occurred years ago, I was not always "chuckling". This book brought me back to those times!
John Schmidtke expresses his wonderful wit and humor in this collection of personal stories. His ability to see the positive in all the messiness of life is inspiring and heartening. Indeed we all have moments that we wish never happened, but John truly encourages all of us to look back and laugh! Thank you, John! I look forward to your next book.
Wisdom dispensed with tremendous warmth and humor... John's a real character, and longsuffering wife Diane is good for a few laughs, herself! Loved the story about the dog moving the car... and John's explanation of the F-word to his 6-year-old daughter was truly inspired! This couple's love for each other and their family permeates every page...for better, for worse!
Knowing John since high school, it seems if something crazy is going to happen, it happens to John. John didn't have to look back and laugh - he would laugh when it happened. I always wondered how he coped with it and now he has written this book that explains it. John’s approachable writing takes you into these moments and gives insight that will help you love life no matter what it throws at you.
You may have heard the old adage "making lemonade out of lemons"... but until you share some time with John Schmidtke in this courageously frank and unguarded "Look Back And Laugh" you haven't experienced the best. I am reminded in this finely crafted work that we do only pass this way once... and at each event in our lives, we only have one opportunity to make an impression on the world of who we are what we stand for, and whether we're quitters or winners. Hats off to Schmidtke! Fellow readers this is a quick read that will surely create a new friendship for you with the author and the wonderful, inimitable, indefatigable Diane! Mr. Schmidtke, thank you. Your book is timely, indeed!
Look Back and Laugh
I've known this guy for 40 years and his wife, Diane does some really funny stuff. It reminds me of the man who was asked by his Dr. if he had any questions following a yearly physical exam. No, but It's my wife...she can't hear anymore and she won't come in for a hearing test. So the doc tells um how to do his own hearing test. 1st, don't let her know about the test....get back 50 feet and talk to her in a normal voice. If she hears you, cancel the test. That's normal hearing. If not, move closer 10 feet at a time and repeat the test and let me know when she hears your voice. I'll take it from there. He measures a hallway exactly 50 feet to the kitchen sink.and puts 5 marks on the floor for reference. There she is....doing the dishes with her back towards him. PERFECT! He stands at the 50' mark and says....Diane, what's for supper? No response...40'. no response, 30' no response, 20', no response. He's a little ticked and moves to the 10' mark stress-fully asking....HEY, DIANE, WHAT'S FOR SUPPER? Diane turns around and shouts, FOR THE 5th TIME, CHICKEN!
Expect more in this book....

The 15 reviews I read made me think I'd be reading a masterpiece of well crafted laugh out loud encouraging stories... instead I soon decided the reviews were as loopy and unrealistic as the authors stories. How terribly embarrassing for his family! As a wise man once taught let our words pass through three gates is it true... is it necessary...is it kind...Some things are best left unsaid!
Great book to read. So funny.. At times I laughed so hard I cried. The evening I received the book I started to read it. Had to stop when I couldn't hold my eyes open. Next day I finished the book. Glad I did. Great work John!
